About The Event

You can not lead a child to a place of healing if you do not know the way yourself.- Dr. Karyn Purvis

As we think on how we feel about the season, it is common to have complex feelings and have difficulty sorting our grief and loss. Together we will help parents process grief and loss in a supportive, small group setting and enable parents to bring home skills to help the children in their care process big feelings in advance of the holiday season.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Dr.Jessica will talk about all aspects of the holiday season to help you make space for emotions and grief and help adults to process these feelings to create space for hope and happiness. Simple activities that promote reflection will give parents the opportunity to Parents will participate in exercises during this adult-only workshop, giving space for sadness and loss. Parents will be given a take-home kit to explore these activities at home with the children in their care.

ABOUT:

Dr. Jessica Diasodse completed her undergraduate education in psychology at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ and continued with graduate school training in clinical psychology at Rosemead School of Psychology in La Mirada, California. During her training, she was privileged to work with clients in many settings, including a psychiatric hospital, a men’s prison, private practice, and multiple college counseling centers. Through working in these settings with people from many backgrounds, one thing she's learned is that no matter who you are, there is power in understanding your story in the presence of another.

Dr. Diasodse is practice-owner of Liminal Psychology LLC in Bound Brook, NJ which provides therapy to teens and adults specializing in trauma, spirituality related concerns, neurodiversity, and OCD. She also teaches and trains other therapists, provides psychoeducational workshops, and creates educational content on the internet.

You will leave this workshop with the tools to address your grief and other feelings around the holidays.
