About The Event
This workshop will include hands-on sensory activities and discussion. Each participant will also have the opportunity to complete a survey assessing their child's sensory needs. Valerie Pena, Occupational Therapist, and Melissa Carerro, a Speech-Language Pathologist who serve on the Professional Advisory Board of Miriam's Heart, will explain how sensory processing dysfunction can be treated with OT, oral sensory needs and other sensory issues related to speech and feeding. It is recommended you also sign up for part 1 of this workshop, Sensory Smart Workshop Part 1, which will be held on September 20th and will address the other three senses (touch, proprioceptive, and vestibular).
