Elizabeth Occhipinti

Elizabeth and her husband Jim first developed Miriam’s Heart in 2009. Speaker, author, and co-founder and President of a New Jersey based non-profit, Miriam’s Heart. Elizabeth has nearly 15 years of experience working with children who have been adopted or placed in foster care and their families, Elizabeth holds a BS in Human Services and has a MS in Child and Adolescent Psychology and is a TBRI practitioner. Elizabeth served on the international Orphan Sunday/Stand Sunday leadership team for the Christian Alliance for Orphans. In 2021, Elizabeth received a Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute Angels in Adoption® award after she was nominated by New Jersey Senators Robert Menendez & Cory Booker. Elizabeth sits on the Somerset County Commission on Child Abuse and Missing Children, Somerset County CIACC, and the Faith Leader subcommittee of the Somerset County Office of Youth Services. Elizabeth and her husband James are adoptive parents themselves and are also licensed foster parents. Together they have 5 children who keep their New Jersey home appropriately busy and can often be seen dancing and singing in their kitchen as they clear the dinner table.
