About The Event

In partnership with Advocacy 4 Education, LLC (https://advocacy4education.com/) this event is being led by Katie Passman. Katherine Passman is an educational advocate who is passionate about ensuring all children receive the free and appropriate Public Education they are entitled to.

In 2003, Katherine received a Master of Science in Education (M.S.Ed) in Preschool Psychology from Fordham University.  She also earned a Professional Diploma in School Psychology and maintains a NJ state certification as a School Psychologist.

The purpose of this presentation is to provide attendees with a basic overview of the essential principles of the special education law IDEA 2004.  The principles covered will include:

  1. Zero Reject
  2. Non-discriminatory Evaluations
  3. Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE)
  4. Least Restrictive Environment
  5. Procedural Safeguards
  6. Parent Participation
